With the clang compiler and Homebrew updated for Apple silicon, we could compile Molflow for the new ARM architecture.

For the quick pipe (Test menu), with 8 subprocesses, we got ~20Mhits/s on a Macbook Air M1, with thermal throttling reducing it to ~17Mhit/s after a few minutes (not present on Pro and Mac Mini models with active cooling)

The 2019 Macbook Pro (Intel i7 2.8GHz) generates ~8Mhits/s, hinting at a peak performance of the new model that is 2.5 times the old one.

Knowing that it's the first Apple chip, and likely new models are coming this year, the development is really interesting. Feel free to test yourself by downloading the 2.8.6 beta.
