Error

Error writing XML file.

File: Molflow_Autosave(3_my sim.zip).zip

How should I solve this problem? I am running the simulation, but the note pops up every other several minutes.

Thank you!

The error means that the autosave, every ten minutes, can't be performed for some reason.

I need more information. Which version? Can you save files normally (not autosave)?

Most probably you don't have permission to write to the Molflow folder.

You can disable autosave in global settings if you can't find the cause.

Hi Marton,

I am running 2.6.64 (Jan 25 2018). Sometimes, I can save. Most time, it shows me the error: Error writing XML file. File:C:\ ......... when I try to save the results after running the simulation.

Thanks.

but "save as" works, I don't know why.

I load a previous simulation at the beginning and then I had some modifications. Then, I tried to save.

Maybe some character in the filename is not supported? Once the Save As works, can you save the file again with the regular Save command?

File: flux profile for 3rd gen oven.zip

Well, I can open the file if I unzip the file (Extract All) first. It seems that the same problem happened to other users previously as well.

You're the first to report this, what other users had the same problem and when? Only with the latest version?

What is the full local path (if not confidential)? Does the target folder have identical filename but other extension?

No the target folder only has one such file with such extension.

However, I had another older version here:

C:\Users\Chao Li\Google Drive\Molflow\molflow_2.6.53

Can you reproduce the issue in any folder that is NOT synced with Google Drive?

I believe the Drive sync client locks the file for indexing thus the write fails.

It seems that when Molflow tries to autosave, it creates another extention each time, e.g. error creating zip file

file: Molflow_Autosave(XXXX.zip).zip
