I would like to use the histogram plotter and histogram settings to learn about particle flight distance and number of bounces.  I have been unable to find any documentation explaining how to use it.  For some reason, all my attempts at getting a histogram of particle distance show all zeros.  Is there an updated manual that details how to use these settings?  Thanks.

Although there is no manual (yet) for this new feature, it should be straightforward to use: for bounces, distance and time until absorption (=pumping), you define a histogram (with max value and bin size), and Molflow records + displays it.

Global is for the whole system (pumped anywhere), Facet is for the selected facet(s) (pumped locally).

If you still get zeroes, upload the file here and I'll investigate.

I uploaded file with zero flight distance.  Also, a screen shot showing histogram settings and plotter.

What does facet histogram record bounces mean?  Is it the number of bounces before the particle hits the facet?  Thanks.

I checked your geometry and the histograms work as expected.

In your Powerpoint screenshot, you'r trying to plot 10000 data points which is not possible for performance reasons. Normally you should get a warning like this:

It means that only flight distances <1cm will be plotted, but due to your geometry's size it's not physically possible (pump-desorption distance is larger than 1cm.

If I set 300cm limit and 1cm bin size, I get a histogram which looks realistic:

As for your second question, the number of bounces is the number of bounces before a particle absorbs on the facet. (On every histogram one count is one absorption. That way we can assure that one test particle isn't counted multiple times)
